Hopefully it will take us less than 8 years to reach another 1000.

Is there any way to break down this 1000 into particular languages?

I had a quick look at the stats and did some calculating (just for fun ;)):

On Jun 28, 2009 there were 349 completed Non-English projects...
On Apr 29, 2010 we reached 500
a year later (May 01, 2011 ) it was at 680 (+180)
and another one passed (May 04, 2012) the count now up to 806 (+126)
and finally on May 01, 2013 we were at 947 (+141)

On average 12 Non-English projects were catalogued per month, which means the next 1000 will take about 7 years (or a quarter of my current lifetime) It would be interesting to see how many (non-English) hours were recorded on average in a month or a year since a long project will still only count for 1 even if it took ages to finish ;)

Congrats to everyone for reaching this milestone!!!

Yes, but by the time we get there, it will be only 20% of your then current lifetime . . . and the longer we live, the quicker it gets!

One step at a time - on we go!

Oops, looks like no one has pulled the stats for November yet.

There were 85 books cataloged in November, and another 19 cataloged already in December! As of today, 993 cataloged for 2013.

Stats as of today are:

Total number of projects 7873
Number of completed projects 7237
Number of completed non-English projects 1012
Total number of languages 89
Number of languages with a completed work 34
Number of completed solo projects 4053
Number of readers 6074
...who have completed something

Little history for those who are interested:
Year Project Count
2013 - 993
2012 - 1071
2011 - 1082
2010 - 1076
2009 - 1018
2008 - 883
2007 - 726
2006 - 358
2005 - 30

We're doing very well in 2013 considering all that was involved in the switch to the new catalog and uploader!

Posting an update, with 11 days left in 2013,

We have currently cataloged 70 projects in December and 1044 so far in 2013.

I am MCing 4 which are very close to finished . . . how many can we bring across the line before the year end?

Not sure if it was supposed to be a rhetorical question or if you expected some sort of answer :)
There's one I PL where all the sections have been submitted. Now I just have several chapters to PL and spot-check. Two others are close to an end: in fact they have been that way for quite a long time :P

Piotre,
I meant it as rhetorical! Sort of a "go team, let's keep up the good work".
It's a busy time of year so people are spread pretty thin . . . we're well over 1000 and a lot has happened this year to slow things down, so all things considered, it looks like an excellent year so far, and one that we can call be proud of.

We are currently at 1049 releases - amazing, considering what a year it has been.

Update as we near the end of the year: We are at 96 projects cataloged for December and 1070 for 2013. One more will tie us with the number cataloged last year . . .

That'll happen, even if I have to catalog the short poetry collection a day early.
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart
Humor: My Lady Nicotine
