Leni wrote: November 1st, 2019, 6:49 pm What's interesting about the 883 books so far is that we need exactly 200 books, 100 per month now, to equal the record of 1083 books catalogued in 2013. And 201 books to surpass it. Just saying.
I think that on average some 80 to 95 books are produced monthly. The supplementary effort in March 2019 produced 122 books. May be December will be a very productive month?.

This is a few days late...

During the month of November we cataloged 70 books (and 10 already in December), giving us 963 so far for 2019.

(So we need 120 more books cataloged in December to tie the record. Not to be pessimistic, but I don't think that's going to happen.)

Other stats as of today:
Total number of projects 14018
Number of completed projects 13405
Number of completed non-English projects 1737
Total number of languages 98
Number of languages with a completed work 39
Number of completed solo projects 7199
Number of readers 9533
...who have completed something 9403
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart

Not necessarily - we don't have a stat about the length of recordings, and if there is a burst of 1-2 hour recordings the figures are higher.
So we can't say it was nonproductive, we may have produced more hours of recording than the previous month.

It looks promising for 15 000 for next Christmas, though...

We are currently at 101 projects cataloged for the month of December, and 1054 for the year. This year ranks 5th overall in the number of cataloged projects, and was our best year since 2013 (which was also our best overall at 1083).

Still a few more hours to go in the US, so we will see if the number goes up before midnight! :D

Is there any way to know how many of those 9627 readers are currently active? I'm not sure what that means, but maybe how many people are currently claiming a section, or how many people have turned in a section (or PL'd, or BC'd or MC'd) in the last year, some sort of metric that would filter out the folks who haven't done anything in a while.

Somebody who knew how to dig into the API data MIGHT be able to pull out some of that info, but it's beyond the capabilities of most of us.

We have already catalogued 86 books this month, and it's 10 more days to go.

I'm wondering if this will be one of our most prolific month ever - everything more than 100 books would bring this one into the top-20.
Cheers, Ava.

I was wondering, too, but didn't want to jinx it by talking about it.
