Librivox was born in August 2005 and since day 1, we have valued ALL our volunteers. Whether you participate daily, weekly, or just every now and then, you are part of our Librivox family and we are grateful for your contributions*.

This month we celebrate 103 *active members*(defined below) who joined in November a year or more ago, and send a hearty round of applause for "job well done" and "thank you for being active this year". As you run across these names in your projects, give them a high five or pat on the back, and direct them to this page (which they may not even know about) to see who else shares their Libriversary month and year.

*Contributions* include BC'ing and MC'ing projects, recording/completing files, proof-listening, cover making, plus editing, creating Wikipedia links, programming and other behind the scenes tasks that may be hard to notice active participation in (unless you speak up).

*Active member* is defined by some level of volunteerism within the past 12 months. If you think your name has been left off this list, or misspelled, please PM msfry. Members who become active again after a long absence and are still in our Membership database, can make the list in future years. The current Libriversary announcement is a Sticky at the top of the News Forum. Past Libriversaries don't disappear . . . they can be found in the forum as well, by date published or search for "Libriversaries-Month".

Hard to believe; have I really been here so long?

Another November passes; I'm glad that LibriVox has managed to survive so long. Happy anniversary, everyone.

Your position at the head of the November Libriversaries is rather appropriate for another reason.

November marks the 14th anniversary of the release of the original Blue Yeti - it really was that long ago! And I seem to recall that you were one of the first (possibly the first) reader to use one. It was before I joined but I'm sure I remember you posting some comments about it on the forums. Newer readers may not realise the range of available mics was much smaller back in those days, and the Yeti was a bit of a gamechanger.

Hope you have many more years of Librivox.

Thanks; yes, I think I was the first on the site to use the Blue Yeti .. and the same one is still going strong.

I have no plans to stop recording yet!

Wow! I had no idea that a) anyone was tracking this stuff so closely, and b) I was so close to the top of the list.

When I joined in 2006 I don't think I knew that LibriVox was so young. I was just glad to have found it.

Even though my activity lapsed for a good number of years, coming back earlier this year was definitely a good decision, and I hope to remain active for a long time to come.

I use a Blue Yeti, too, beginning my 2nd year here. So I can't blame my mediocre audio quality on that. :(

Congrats to all the November LV anniversary celebrants! When I found LibriVox back in 2006, I was looking for some free audiobooks to put on a new mp3 player. I thought, hey, I can do that and promptly headed out to Best Buy to look for a headset mike. Three mic upgrades and many, many recordings later, I still enjoy recording and believe in that what we do here is worthwhile, so no plans of heading off into the sunset just yet...

Thanks, Michele for keeping the anniversary list going. It's fun each month to look and see who has been here the longest.

It's been my pleasure to do this, for curiosity, to build community, and to honor each and every person who helps us fulfill our mission. You "old-timers" are an especial inspiration. :)
