Will the woman he loves - so far in vain - save him? Or will she decide instead to accept the wooing of the powerful town official? He can but hope....

I have two suggestions for this theme. The first, a non-fiction, is called The Future of the Women's Movement. While it details some disheartening facts about the situation of women in 1913 England, it does so with the belief that their situation can and will improve as we continue to work toward equity between the sexes.

Next, I have a short chapter book (less than 1 hour run time) called Little Miss Grasshopper by the author of the well-known story of Heidi. In this story, a family takes a long-anticipated vacation which is suddenly interrupted by a potential disaster. Without hope pushing them on, the family will certainly never be the same again.

I am happy about all suggestions regarding the longest books on LibriVox. The longer the better, give our listeners something to do over the long winter nights! I'm thinking of Count of Monte Christo, Les Mis, War and Peace, The Song of the Nibelungs, that kind of things. What else do we have And what is our longest LV recording ever?

Especially welcome are suggestions of plays and (epic) poetry.

interesting topic. I found a few here off the top of my head:

definitely the Odyssee. We have it in many languages, but maybe worth pointing out is the original Greek version. So far we have 8 books completed, but I’m not sure if that is the total:
