Hi,

I do not know if you take proposals still.

You might wish to consider the Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca.
His "libro de poemas" is the first one in librivox by him:
https://archive.org/details/poemas_1701_librivox

Of course, it is in Spanish. The translations are not in the public domain yet.

Regards,

I do take proposals until a few days before the end of the month, so don't worry!

Thank you for the suggestion of a Spanish project! I think I will try to have one or two non-English suggestions now each month, so this is very useful! :D
Cheers, Ava.

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but I found it interesting - it's the trial reports from Oscar Wilde's trial before he was sentenced to Reading Gaol: https://librivox.org/the-trial-of-oscar-wilde-dramatic-reading-by-anonymous/

Two more recommendations:

The Satyricon

Carmilla

I'd also recommend Death in Venice, but I believe our only recording of that is currently in another, unrelated collection.
PROJECTS
Current Solo:Septimius Felton (Hawthorne's final novel)
Help Needed: Strange Interlude (O'Neill's Freudian melodrama - roles available!)

Here's a terrific reading of W.S.Gilbert's "Yarn of the Nancy Bell" - a comic tale of cannibalism at sea...

In terms of historical plays, there are a whole series of English history plays by Amice McDonnell: https://librivox.org/author/11226

These include Robin Hood, The Story of the Armada, Magna Carta, and Saxon and Norman.

There is also a play of "Catherine Howard" by Alexandre Dumas.

EDIT: Something a bit different from recent history was the Hurricane Katrina Report: http://librivox.org/a-failure-of-initiative-by-united-states-house-of-representatives/

Not sure how broadly you define "history" but the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is quite historically important, I think.
As is the "Österreichischer Staatsvertrag" but I am biased. 8-)
