we need a bit of help, see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Mel_Etitis

and:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Mackinaw

because we occasionally go thru and put in a whole bunch of links from articles about a text to the relevant LV catalog pages, we got tagged as linkspammers - and now I am battling out with the admin. (I'm mackinaw, admin guy is mel_stitis)

any ideas anyone? it seems as though this will go round and round. also just out of curiosity, who here is a regular wikipedia editor?

What would Mel like to see happen..?

It seems like s/he's worried about the volume more than the content of links - so would a compromise be to add a link a day..? Or to agree that it happens routinely once a month, perhaps..? Or are they wishing we'd just stop linking altogether..?

Good going with it so far, though, Hugh, you sound pretty calm. Hang in there! And no publicity is bad publicity, or something ...
There's honestly no such thing as a stupid question -- but I'm afraid I can't rule out giving a stupid answer : : To Posterity and Beyond!

well the nice thing is when you send an email to jimmy wales & he replies:
If you'll send me a link to a discussion, I'll be happy to weigh in.
;) so I assume that should be the end of that!

Yes, one MUST.

I am a Wikipedia editor, who is somewhat regular in her habits, and orderly.

I'll bet he will. He was very gracious about doing an interview/podcast for me.

oh I'll ask Jimbo eventually - but that note was to the stubborn admin I was fighting with, not Jimbo.
