We're updating the underlying guts in the LibriVox server. To do this, we need to take down the entire site.

The LibriVox site will be out of commission on Monday, December 5th and possibly into Tuesday, December 6th.

We expect the site to do down around 5:00 am EST (CLICK HERE to determine the time in your time zone). The update will take at least the full day, and possibly into Tuesday.

We will post updates as we receive them on our Twitter page: https://twitter.com/librivox

Now's the time to download your texts and section commitments, intro/outro wordings, etc., your files to PL, and anything else you can work on off-site.

Cataloged projects will still be available at Archive: https://archive.org/details/librivoxaudio

Feel free to post questions, but I'm not sure we'll have all the answers. ;)

P.S. Does that time converter link work? It's hard for me to test.

Yes, it does for me. Doesn't put me in the right city, but the time zone is correct.

Yes. But you won't be able to see Magic Windows or project threads to click on the text links, so note your text links beforehand. :)

Thank you Tricia, is there any chance the notice could be shown on all topics?

Is there any chance that the update might accidentally delete audio files pending for current projects? Should I download the part files for my current DRs in advance of Monday?

Unfortunately, no. The "global" announcement is the best we can do. I wish I could send everyone a notification for when they log in, but I can't. :(

I suppose there's always a CHANCE, as there's a chance you'll lose files when you update Windows/OS, but the chance is slim, I'd think.

Thank you for this heads-up. I'll just stay away for those two days - as hard as that is for me to do! I look forward to seeing and learning the new site and navigation tools. - Betsy

Tricia,
Thank you for the advanced clue in to the site getting worked on. I will download my necessary items to complete the thread I have chosen items in. ;)
All good,
