Glad it worked out for you! There are really myriad little tricks to quieting any space but they all boil down to these two:
1) Avoid hard surfaces, and
2) Avoid parallel surfaces.
Blankets work very well because they're both soft and not flat. Even spread out against a wall a blanket has far more texture than the wall itself, and it can be hung so that it's not parallel with anything!

It certainly made a difference in my recordings. Instead of the tight hard reverb, I have a nice smooth sound. The downside is that it is hotter in my small room, but I don't mind. Very sound (pun intended) advice, ChipDoc!
