I just went through a little personal project identifying the languages of all the 6000 poems that wikidata knows about, hadn't had its language identified, are in the public domain and currently don't have an audio file attached.

It's a bit much for me now to record them all, so where can I/we go from here?

I'd love it if one day they all ended up with an audio file attached.

This is a list of the 3000+ English ones, you should just need to follow the link then press the blue "play" button to runt he query

https://query.wikidata.org/#%23Public%20Domain%20Poems%2C%20in%20English%20but%20without%20audio%0A%23defaultView%3ATable%0ASELECT%20%3Fitem%20%3FitemLabel%20%3Fpic%0AWHERE%0A%7B%0A%3Fitem%20wdt%3AP31%20wd%3AQ5185279%20.%0A%3Fitem%20wdt%3AP6216%20wd%3AQ19652%20.%20%20%0A%20%20%20%20MINUS%20%7B%3Fitem%20wdt%3AP989%20%5B%5D%20%7D%20.%0A%3Fitem%20wdt%3AP407%20wd%3AQ1860%20.%0ASERVICE%20wikibase%3Alabel%20%7B%20bd%3AserviceParam%20wikibase%3Alanguage%20%22%5BAUTO_LANGUAGE%5D%2Cen%22%20%7D%0A%7D

I have recorded all of the Shakespeare Sonnets and I see 104 has not been recorded. I may* upload this one to a poetry collection, either my original or a new recording.

* No promises though.

That link didn't work for me.

Are there e-text sources for all the poems?
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart
Humor: My Lady Nicotine

I would think that a lot of them will have the text in Wikipedia's sister site "Wikisource"

They may be in "the other pages" site.

I've just checked and they are. https://theotherpages.org/poems/poem-st.html

When you say not recorded, do you mean by a Librivox volunteer? For example, I'm sure all of the Shakespeare Sonnets have been recorded by several English actors on CD.

If I were to upload Sonnet 104 for example, I would need to re-record it as my old recordings were made a few years ago and I'm no longer very happy about them. (I recorded them as a project in 2016 as it was the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death in 1616).

I've just checked and it has been recorded on LV! LINK: https://librivox.org/short-poetry-collection-048/

Just saying again -nothing needs recording by LV readers. Readers chose what they wish to read and as long as the copyright has expired they can read it. So yes a list of poetry that doesn't have an audio link is interesting but that does not mean anyone needs to provide a recording nor does it mean poetry, not on that list does not need recording so the thread should be called "poems I didn't find a link to a recording to" or "Poems I think need recording" perhaps.

I meant in an open-source/public-domain way and then linked to wikidata, it would seem silly if there was a duplication of effort between wikdata and LibriVox so was hoping someone more experienced in LV could help me

my aim is to help partially-sighted, language-learners or anyone else would benefit from audio.

When I followed the initial link and hit 'play' the resulting list included "The Walrus and the Carpenter," which has been repeatedly recorded for LV... Either I ran the query wrong or Wikidata isn't making full use of LibriVox, I think.
But the "other poems' link led me to The Cuckoo Wood, which isn't on LV and which I'd never heard of before; I may record that one....
Back from a low-internet no-Librivox year in Georgia. Glad to be with you again.
