I am planning on recording a long poem soon but I think it will be best for me to record while resting in bed. I purchased a handheld recorder (a Sony something) and it works well enough, but the mic doesn't give an ideal sound. I've posted a short sample of something recorded using this mic and recorder.

My question is, Are there things that can be done in Audacity that will give a 'warmer' and 'fuller' sound to what I have here and will have using this set-up? I think that what I have recorded is adequate (maybe even not bad) but it doesn't quite sound like my desktop mic (a Thronmax, which wasn't all that expensive at all and which I like a lot.)
EDIT. This is the recorder: Sony ICD-PX470 Stereo Digital Voice Recorder. I didn't realize that there is a built-in mic. I'm using the stereo mic that can be attached to one's lapel (or pajamas!)

Not feeling well. I'll get back to work as soon as possible. My LibriVox: https://librivox.org/sections/readers/13278
Give this a listen. First I compressed it, then applied EQ: +6db @100-200hz, -6db @10khz, -12db @ 12-20khz.

Yes, I've managed to replicate (nearly) what you have done. Many thanks to you!sjmarky wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2021, 2:55 pmGive this a listen. First I compressed it, then applied EQ: +6db @100-200hz, -6db @10khz, -12db @ 12-20khz.
