If I do partake in a project will there we a set time to record, edit or whatever task that needs to be done? I would like to get started but afraid if there is a time crunch I will not be able to put forth my best.

Often, it depends on the project. Most of our group projects have an expectation that your section(s) will be ready within 1-2 months of your signing up for them. A few, like the weekly and fortnightly poetry, have a much shorter deadline. Most of the time, you can ask for an extension if you need additional time. That isn't possible for a few projects, but usually there's no problem.

When you go to the Readers Wanted forum and click on a title you're interested in, the first post will contain lots of information relative to that specific project, including the expectations on time.
