Hey guys,
I am a musician and am currently working on an album to release to the general public. I need help tracking down John Doyle who narrated "Lines Composed a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey" to ask to get rights from his narrated recording or who ever owns the rights so I can use a sample/snippet of it in one of the albums songs. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Fletcher
[solved]Help! Need to get in contact with John Doyle who narrated Lines Composed a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey
It appears that he hasn't been online here in years, so this is probably not the best place to look for him.
However, there is a website mentioned on his reader page, maybe this is still current.

Good luck!

If you search for him as a reader he gave http://www.youtube.com/user/johndoylepoems as his url - that was over 10 years ago but maybe worth a try.

But if the only reason you're trying to contact him is to get permission, we can save you some heartache and a lot of time!
If you mean the recording he made that is available at this page: https://librivox.org/long-poems-collection-007-by-various/ , then there's no need to ask him or anyone else permission. There are no rights. Every LibriVox recording is released into the public domain, so this is freely available to anyone for any reason.

In the USA that is correct - it is not necessarily so in other countries for various reasons and it is also true that if you release things on other plarforms they may insist on individuals giving permission.
And it is good manners

Hi Guys,
Thank you so much for your help and support. I took your advice and found his youtube channel and emailed him with success! He replied back and allowed me to use the poem!
Thank you all.
Once released I'll be sure to post the song in this thread.
Cheers,
Fletcher
