Someone I am working with on their 1 minute test has this problem
Err, how do you adjust the gain in Audacity? Because the mic gain is locked in place and I physically can't adjust it no matter how I click and highlight, I can only adjust the headphone volume. Is there a setting to unlock the mic?
Any ideas? I have never seen this before. :help:

No - but I'd close audacity and try again for starters, no idea if it would work - but it is easy to do :D

If it's a Linux setup then it's normal in many cases. You have to access the sound settings directly from the desktop (or however the system is configured). Look for a speaker icon somewhere on the desktop. But there's a great variety among Linux setups...

Just found out it is a linux and they adjusted through the interface so they reduced volume that way. Learning something new every day!
