I'm noticing author and translator dates included in the introductions and endings. Is this something I missed when it was introduced? Or I've always missed it? Is this required?

It's not required. In fact, when I MC, I remove them from the intro/outro wording.

They were somehow included in the intricate coding (the behind-the-scene conversion into forum code when you fill in the Project Template Generator) for the intros/outros, but it shouldn't have been. We haven't had a chance to remove them.
