H.G. Wells has a LOT of entries, but you only get subsets according to where you slip in spaces. "H. G. Wells" isn't the same as "H.G.Wells" or "H.G. Wells".
All the entries ought to have one fixed way of denoting the name.

I'll have a look - we do have a way for alternative versions of names but whether this handles punctuation I know not
