A quick question about George Bernard Shaw and European copyright law--

I've had Shaw's preposterously long Back to Methuselah on the back-burner for the past couple of years, essentially sitting on a heaping mountain of highlighted scripts until Shaw's work fell into the public domain in Europe. It's probably the last great dramatic project I want to do for Librivox -- but I've been holding off since about 2018 or so. In addition to wanting to allow everyone (regardless of region) to help bring this play to life, I also wanted to make sure I widened the casting pool as much as I could... because this play is massive (with about 60+ characters and a monstrously long preface). Now that we're nearing that point, I wanted to confirm when I could safely launch this project.

Will Shaw's work fall into the PD in Europe on (a) January 1, 2020, (b) November 5, 2020, exactly 70 years after his death, or (c) January 1, 2021?

He died 2 November 1950?

He'll be PD in Life+70 countries on January 1, 2021. It's the first calendar year a full 70 years after death.

This is actually a relief. I don't have the time to work on this right now anyway.

Thanks!

SO if we tell you 2050 you will stay around here longer?

Thanks, Todd
