Does anybody know a magic trick to resolving problems getting a bluetooth headphone set to connect to a Windows 10 laptop when it pairs, but doesn't connect all the way through?

I've rarely used Bluetooth so I can't help much, but this article might help:

Thanks for trying :)

That one's for Windows 8.1, but it did give me one more idea to try (unsucessfully).

I've tried the fixes shared in several YouTube videos, and nothing has worked. I was hoping someone else might have worked through this insanity and figured something out.

Bluetooth works fine with the printer, and the laptop sees (and pairs with) the V Moda Crossfade headphones. They don't connect through, though.

Hi Lynnette...

When you say that they don't "connect through", might they be connected but not be the default device? If you click on the speaker icon in the tray at the bottom right of your screen, there will be a drop-down arrow to the right of the name of the audio device. If you click on this and see your Bluetooth headphones there, they're connected but not the default option.

Beware of using Bluetooth for audio editing - the protocol introduces a delay so the point you think you're at in your edit may be half a second ahead of what you're hearing. If both your headphones *and* computer support aptX then this is reduced to 0.05s which is close enough to be workable.

Cheers,
Paul

Oh, now that's good to know. Thanks, Paul. Mostly I want the wireless connection for PL work so I can more easily do things like planking while listening, but even there, it would be messed up for providing the reader with an accurate note cue.

The connection thing - seems to be a common problem, where the device doesn't connect after pairing, despite all settings being correct and drivers uodated. All the tutorials out there fail to help. There is an obscure comment on one board that looked promising, regarding some super-hidden internal security thingamajig. I *was* going to look into that this weekend, but with the timing issue you speak of, I'm setting this aside as not worth any more hours spent trying to resolve.
