[NOT PD] Poems of Charles Bukowski

Hello All! 8-)

I joined Librivox recently and I collaborated in a couple of projects just to get familiar with how things work here.
But what I really wanted to do here was to read the poems of Charles Bukowski and it seems to be more complicated than reading and recording classic works!
Bukowski's books are subjected to copyright laws and the only selection of poetry in the public domain I found was this one:

https://archive.org/details/BukowskiPoems

Although this is a sloppy collection and some of the poems in here are incomplete or damaged, I still wouldn't mind reading the ones which are Ok!
I would like to ask for your opinion.
Can there even be a Bukowski recording on Librivox cus of the copyright laws?
How can I create a Solo project on this topic since not all of the poems in this collection are faithful to what the poet has written? Is it possible to skip?

Hi there!

Charles Bukowski was born in 1920 and died in 1994.

The cutoff for automatic public domain in the US (that's what LV needs) is currently "published before 1924".

So no, Charles Bukowski's poems are not public domain and cannot recorded for LV.

And please, for the record, in general: open source is not the same as public domain.

His bold vulgarity and bitter outlook towards life while at the same time giving a sense of aesthetics to the ugly and resentful things in our modern world.
His poems are sour, hostile, sinister and delicious in my opinion. :?
