Probably discussed in depth somewhere. Will someone point me to the discussion.

What does one do with footnotes? Insert them into the reading when they are explanatory (rather than a citation)? Read them off at the end of a chapter? Number them when they are in fact unnumbered?

Please?

All except numbering when they are not numbered.
If its a group project ask the BC
If you are the BC/soloist you decide, it just so depends on the project
Personally, if they don't contribute a reading I leave them out
If they don't contribute to the reading I leave them out
If they explain a point in the reading - like an explanation of a word, I insert them with the word and change my voice to something like a stage aside with a slight pause before and after the word.

It's discussed all over the place, I haven't ever come across a dedicated discussion because it is so reader/project dependant
Always you are better to ask your MC/BC , then at least they know what the project is :D

Thank you for your reply and guidance.

Far from making fun, I understand all too well when we must say, "It depends." Hahaha!
