I am asking the wise and knowledgeable people of LibriVox whether this book Grampa inOz, by Ruth Plumy Thompson, published in 1924 is now considered in the public domain. I have an electronic copy of the text but not the book or a source to use in recording. Any help there would also be most appreciated. Yeah, I know this book is not overly significant in the canon of world literature but it's social significance also cannot also be underestimated. It has funny critters and I like it. Image

You'll have to wait till next year unless PG decides the copyright was not renewed , but I wouldn't hold my breathe about that . Publishers know when they are on a good thing, and I'm sure even if they had forgotten, Judy Garland's movie would have resulted in a rush to protect anything that even thought of mentioning Oz

Awww shucks Anne. Guess I'll just do a deSade until then. Also full of strange critters but lacking the wit and social commentary and definitely not as funny. [Phil wanders off dejectedly into the ennui of the night]

Next year! But I've just launched The Cowardly Lion of Oz (1923), also by Ruth Plumly Thompson, so no need for despair!
