I was looking for a story for the current Ghost/Horror collection and found one that I thought looked good. A haunted hospital room! Very atmospheric, good setup. But (spoiler!) there is a twist ending that it was rigged (though no one else in the story realizes it).

So my question is: would that still be okay for the ghost/horror collection, or better to save it for the regular short story collections?

Either place, I suppose. However, I think that if it gives one a creepy feeling and all that, and the twist only comes at the very end, then it's still a good horror story, even if the ghost is fake.

IMHO. :)

It turns out that the ghost was actually the hospital caretaker wearing a scary mask, because he secretly wanted to scare everyone away because he was digging up a buried treasure in the basement.

And he would have gotten away with it, but some meddling kids and a stoner dog showed up in a weird van and gave it all away.

Jinkies!
