Hello!
I've finished reading and editing my very first chapter!!! It's taken me soooo long, but I'm still not quite there. How do I fix reading errors??? Like how do I insert the correct words when I've said it wrong? Is there a way to add a bit of voice that has been recorded separately???

Hi!

Here are a bazillion helpful videos: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Instructional_Videos
There is a section for audacity.
This one is about editing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLdJsoGQc9c

And if you need a special video, I will make one just for you using your audio file as an example! (tomorrow is my birthday and I'm getting older so let me know ......)Image
As another note, editing is preplexing at first but most of us learned it ... be patient.

Check out Phil's signature link for tons of helpful videos. In response to your original post here, yes you definitely can edit recordings! (LV volunteers would be pretty stuck if we couldn't! ) It can take some time, but don't get discouraged - you will get better gradually, with experience. Like I said, check out Phil's videos and then post back here if you still have questions.

Good luck and happy recording!

Yes, really check out Phil's videos. They are brilliant. I am a complete dummy with anything tech or computery but even I understood them easily and after a few tries I could repeat the operations! So I'm sure you can do it too!, Dave

Thanks to Phil from me too!

Editing is easy! Just re-record the bit needed in the same acoustic and mic distance, and cut and splice, like you would in a word processor. Just check the edits to make sure there are no clicks and that it is timed correctly. You can enable cross fades for the edit points to avoid clicks - or fade in/fade out also.

Hope that helps.
