I am trying to log in as the librivox account as specified on the "newbie recording page" and it is not letting me log in to submit y 1-minute-test. Every time I try it just switches me to my actual account.

Trying to log in where? The uploader? Are you trying the correct link? It needs to be https://librivox.org/login/uploader (and there you enter what it says on the "newbie recording page")

And please note that the login info for the uploader is NOT your forum login. The instructions for the 1-minute test will give you the correct login, which is the same for everyone. :)
