Hi. I'm currently working on a solo project, recording Doodles the Sunshine Boy by Emma Dowd. It's taking longer than anticipated due to health issues, but I'm getting there.
The problem is that my DPL has gone MIA and the MC, Mary Ann Spiegel, isn't answering my pm's...
I have contacted the DPL, Simonettix, and gotten no response either. Should I wait for a while longer (been about 4 weeks now) or am I within my scope to search a new DPL out? I don't want to lose Simone but I need to get on while I have the strength to do so. Thanks!
My DPL is missing in action. What do I do?

I am sure that someone can help out in this case. I don't know why Mary Ann didn't catch your posts, she was on lately, but there was some trouble with noticing on PM with the new software for the forum, so maybe that is the reason.
I wish you all the best and keep an eye on your thread. As soon as I am able I might try to have a look but do not rely on this, live keeps me busy.

When did you PM MaryAnn? She's been around, and usually doesn't miss things like PMs. But she WAS on a business trip recently, so maybe she missed it. Try sending her another one, if it has been a while.

Hi Tricia. I pm'd MaryAnn on March 11th. Should I maybe ping her again just in case she missed it?

Done. I'll sit on my hands now and wait to see what comes back.

I agree that you can keep recording and posting your files - remember that PLing is a lot quicker than recording, so if you get to the end of the project and your DPL hasn't come back, it is relatively quick for a new DPL to catch up with you.
But in answer to your original question, to recruit a new DPL you post (using the template) in the "Listeners and Editors" forum asking either for some sections to be PLed or for a new DPL, as the case may be. Not all projects have DPLs - sometimes a project just has different people PLing the sections as needed.
I would usually give the DPL at least two months, like any other claim, before looking for someone new. But that doesn't need to stop you - there are plenty of sections for you to get on with recording!
(And good luck with the cancer thing - I was diagnosed myself five years ago in June, and I'm still here! )
