I've been wondering around the PG site tonight attempting to find a new project to BC. I found this text I thought would be fun for readers: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/56280 Stories from the Operas by Gladys Davidson.

I began to fill out the new project template, however the author isn't on Wikipedia so I thought, well no big deal, I mean it is on PG after all. Then I was looking for the copyright date and I can't find that either. The image of the cover page doesn't have it and it's not included in the bibrec. So, I'm about to give up on this one but before I do I figured I would give a shout and see if I'm missing something. :hmm:

I knew there was a reason I stayed over in "multi-volume works still to be completed" and "abandoned projects".

We'll accept PG's statement it is public domain so that's OK.

https://books.google.com.au/books/about/Stories_from_the_Operas.html?id=ovzTA0ysyDsC&redir_esc=y has a 1906 and 1907 copy
I couldn't find any author dates - there is a Glady Davidson publishing books after the second world war so there may be authur EU problems

Archive has a 4th edition , no printed date with the flyleaf hand written "with Mother's love Dec 1916" and everything about it looks right - cover , artwork - so I'm happy about it.

That's odd; I wonder what's going on with the Amazon copy?

It's maybe an American first edition - she's English - or can they call it a first edition if it's a facsimile ?

"Stories of the Operas" vs. "Stories of Grand Opera". Perhaps they're two different books.
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart

Possibly - the book we are doing is according to the intro a combination of 3 previous books she had written and published - I really only was interested in it being OK and to see if I could find some dates for her - I couldn't , I even wondered if there were 2 of them ?
