Mysterious Listeners

I'm very confused.

Two of my recordings, Swann's Way and William the Englishman, were finished long ago and for years languished with only a handful of listeners (maybe 4-5000 downloads after several years). Suddenly, both of them accelerated; in just a few months they have become the most popular of my recordings by far, with well over 30,000 downloads. This a completely crazy pattern, inexplicable by any explanation I can think of.

Has anyone seen any such pattern before? What could explain it?

William the Englishman had a review on June 30 (albeit pointing out the missing pages in a chapter). Swann's Way had a negative review mid-July. Perhaps having a review - any review - put it on people's radars?

It'd be nice if there were a "downloads by week" (or other time period) to see when the spike occurred.

Seriously, it's hard to say. Maybe Tricia is on to something with the reviews? Or, for Swann's Way at least, it has been added to some school / university curriculum? Or it was added to some other book site somewhere (goodreads, manybooks...?)

Of course they are not downloads - they are "views" , they all may have just listened to 1 minute and decided they hated it.
Or it might be on a syllabus somewhere ?

most of that in the link is still true , but the thumb images that show on our catalogue page are no longer linked to the project page, and even when they were that really only massively affected projects on the new releases page .
I did check when this was posted and the links are correct for those pages.
