Where - the forum or the workflow?

They're different and have different methods.

i had to have new password sent via email, and now I want to change it to login into forums.

figured out how to change for forums, just need to know for workflow.

If you don't remember the workflow password, then you'll have to start over: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/BC's:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window#Accessing_the_System_.E2.80.93_First_Time_Login

If you remember your workflow password, then log in to the workflow (link in the part above), then go to the next section, "Changing your Workflow Password after your first login"

how do you change the forum password? I had to reset it, but it did not give me an option to change it. I do not see any setting in the forum profile or user tool!

User Control Panel (accessed under your forum name, top right corner)
Profile tab
Edit Account settings (in left column list)
