Are all the acronyms, symbols & terminology posted somewhere?

If not, I would like to offer to get such a list together & post it.

That's great. All the acrynoms I was looking for are there, except LV (LibriVox). I know, it seems obvious, but to a newbie ...

Can I suggest to someone to add it in?

Also, there are still symbols I don't understand in the forums. One category is in the left column of each topic: splat with ! (white or yellow with/without padlock), crooked rectangle (yellow or white, blinking or not, with or without black dot on surrounding circle), rounded triangle with i (white, with or without padlock)

Another category is the first item in the title: black arrow pointing to yellow sheet.

All these symbols must mean something. If they are explained somewhere, please let me know. Thanks.

They aren't our symbols, they are part of the board software.

Ok, I'd still like to look them up. I see the board is from phpBB. I looked there to find out about the symbols, but there are a million options & couldn't find LibriVox's setup. Is there someone at LibriVox that would know more about the symbols?

Hiya, what you mean are the symbols in the forum next to threads, right?

The crooked rectangle stands for posts, yellow means new, white is read. The thing moves when the thread is busy, when there are more than 30 posts or so.

Ths black dot mesns that you have posted in this thread

The padlock means you cannot post in the thread.

The triangles with ! Are announcements, important threads or announcements.

The splats are stickies, they are threads that are stuck to the top of the forum so that everyone can find them easily

Does that help? :)

That's great! Thanks so much. That's exactly what I was talking about. There's just one more category.

It's the first item in the TITLE of the thread: black arrow pointing to yellow sheet.

Thats a handy feature. The forum remembers how much of a thread you have already seen. That is why some of the sheets are white (nothing new) and some are yellow (new posts since you last visited). The arrow with the sheet takes you right to the new posts. This is very practical in long threads :)
