How do I turn the volume down?

Just ran one of my recordings through Checker and it passed with warnings, being outside the range of volume (it's 92.3).

I know how to nudge the volume up slightly but how do you make your recording a little quieter?

I figured it out, I think! I just used the Amplify tool but used a negative number. Re-exported and now it passes Checker!

That, or before recording, move the mic slider down slightly in the Audacity window.
