I am trying to record a minute test through GarageBand on ipad and nothing of the explanations go with it, it's totally different. Now, I made a try on GB but I don't know how to convert it into an mp3 and post it on librivox..

Thank you, I found Twisted Wave, it's good and easy to use
I'm on a Mac too (sometimes iPad, sometimes Macbook) and IMHO it is worth the trouble to get and set up Audacity - it's a better program for voice and since so many people here use it there is lots of good advice to be had!

If you got Twisted Wave, use that. Far superior to Audacity. Audacity would be a better choice than GarageBand, but if you already have TW you will prefer that to Audacity.

Yes, i prefer TW because it is simple and also I don't have a pc to install audacity, only iPad. But when i tried to make a test, the noise was loud and my voice volume weak...
When you hit record, an input gain slider should appear at the bottom of the window. That should address the low volume. As to noise, that can be a lot of things. What are using for a mic? Built-in or external?
It must be the internal mic; I get a lot of noise as well. Surprising: I've heard really good recordings from an iPhone; I'd expect as much from an iPad. I do not get all that noise when using an external mic (Apogee MiC).
