I have recorded several chapters and somehow (I really don't know how it happened) but they have been recorded at a sample rate of 48000, instead of 44100. I was using Audacity 1.2.

I have tried to change the sample rate in Audacity and re-export, but:
1. I sound like I am half-asleep - a real drawling sound!
2. The frequency range has lost the high frequencies, and my voice sounds absolutely awful!

Is there a way of changing the sample rate, while preserving the dynamic range and tempo? (I suspect not, and I shall have to re-record the chapters!)

Meanwhile, my wife is avoiding me and I am hopping mad, like a hare with a bedsore! [Or is it a bear with a sore head?]

Please, can anyone put me out of my misery?

I already fixed them and gave them to Thistlechick :) No need to re-record -- they sound fine!

EDIT: here, I've uploaded one to my own webspace so you can make sure it sounds ok to you:

To my (admittedly non-audiophilic) ears, it sounds identical to the 48000 version.

That is amazing software!

It almost makes me want to buy a Mac! What a pity they don't do a Windows version.
