Thank you for the replies! I'm still a little confused. I thought BCs could access everything they need by logging in with their BC account at librivox.org/workflow. Also, at the bottom of the page (my scren shot doesn't cover this) I can see the server operating system and Apache version being run. I feel like that should be priviledged info, not public, so maybe that bottom text should be changed? Again, thank you lots for clarifying about read/write folder permissions.

If a reader tells a BC, "I've uploaded the file, but I forgot to copy/paste the URL I received," the BC can only get to that information via the uploader listing. Or if a reader accidentally overwrites an older file, the BC can access the overwritten file. There are several scenarios where the workflow system isn't enough to access the files. :)

Tried to upload a file for Life of the Fly solo; got error message that it didn't :(. (it's a gross chapter only Temperance Brennan would enjoy, so maybe not so much of a loss... ;) )

"A problem was encountered while attempting to move the uploaded file to the final destination" :?:

I got the same error. I assume it's related to the outage earlier today. I've reported it to the sysadmin.

This seems to happen on occasion for some people. There are a couple of things that spring to mind as possibilities.

First, that for some reason you have unbeknownst to you become logged out of the uploader before the upload has completed. Log out and then log back in and try again.

Second, that if you are using Adobe Audition, it seems to add an illegal character to one of the ID tags and this seems to give our server hiccups. Remove all ID tags and try uploading again.

That doesn't sound like the ID3 tag error. :hmm: Could you please email me the file? I'll send over my address.

Well, on the plus side, you sound great. :D

And on the other plus side (insofar as it's just a small thing which I think is causing the issue) -- I think the uploader is complaining, highly cryptically, about the rate being not quite right. We need 128kbps, and this is recorded at 192kbps (all the other settings -- mono, 44,100Hz look good.)

Could you try making that change and re-exporting it?
