HELP!
Does anyone know how to create a catalog name? And can you ever change that, or is it permanent? HELP!

You don't add the catalogue name - your MC does
The catalogue name is what shows on the catalogue page , if you don't specify one your forum name is displayed
About half the readers use their forum name as the catalogue name , most of the others use a real name , a very few use something that looks like a real name but isn't theirs - it is up to you to decide
You can change it at any time - but this does mean that projects that are already catalogued may retain the first version.
So it is really up to you.

Thank you for your very helpful reply and quick response!
One more question: What EXACTLY does a DPL or PL do? Are there any videos or text?
Thanks again!

http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Guide_for_Proof-listeners will tell you.
The Guide for Listeners and Volunteers , linked at top of each page , should answer most questions for you

Ohhhhh.... Thank you SO much! This answered my exact question - I am working on my first project and just learning exactly what all those letters stand for.
Keep helping people; they appreciate it more than I can say!

The best advice I can give you is to record a chapter or two of a group project before you start on a solo. Recording and editing takes more time than many people know, and we hate to see new readers have to abandon their projects. You will also learn more about how LV works, the terminology, and how to handle files etc after you've had a little experience in group projects.
Welcome and good luck!

This is somewhat belated Sarah but in addition to the Wiki information, I made some videos called Proof Listening 101,102 and 103. here is the link to the first which covers Standard PLing in case you are interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFm3IZ1CIa8. Lots more videos at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Instructional_VideosSarahParshall wrote:Thank you for your very helpful reply and quick response!
