So far, I've listened to two different stories, each read by a single individual. One has pronounced Librivox with a Lee-brivox and the second with a Liebrivox. Which is it?

I'm thinking about Gulliver's Travels or Billy the Kid by Pat Garret, and wanted to do it right and consistently.

You are free to pronounce LibriVox as you like. :D The question pops up frequently and this is the answer. Perhaps we should put in in the FAQ. Thank you for your concern, John.

I've actually pronounced it at least 3 or 4 different ways myself, sometimes changing within a reading!

"This is a Lee-bri-Vox recording. All Lih-bri-Vox recordings..."

Thanks guys! I like leebrihvox myself, so I'll stick with that! :D Haven't done any reading in a while, but want to get some done.

One more question: When you say it backwards, should LibriVox rhyme with "gerbil" or is the accent on the last/first syllable?

I'd definitely say that xoVirbiL (XovIrbil?) rhymes with gerbil.

I look at this word, and my brain tries to translate it to Bovril.

Now that I think about it, I really like the phrase "rhymes with gerbil."

Good name for a rock band or something. . .
