Hey gang,

So, as some of you know, I'm in the process of planning out my next dramatic project: the English language version Frank Wedekind's Lulu plays. I plan on launching this in a couple of weeks (after I've cleared up my backlog), but wanted to see if I could get some assistance from someone in the community. In particular, I wanted to see if anyone could create for me a pronunciation guide for all the names in the play. I'm sure there will be plenty of volunteers who will have difficulty pronouncing many of these names correctly. If you're fluent in German and think you can help some of us say these names correctly, please let me know.

Here are some links to the plays:

Let me know if you're willing to help out. And thanks. :)

Thanks Karlsson! I really appreciate it! In a nutshell, I'd just need two audio files (one for each play) informing all potential volunteer how each name is pronounced. Some names (like Lulu) probably don't need to be explained, but some names aren't even German (like Kungu Poti). Specifically, I just want to focus on the German names. I'll go ahead and post the names of all the characters below.

Thanks again! I'm launching this project sometime next week, but there's no big rush to get it finished!

Why don't you take the pronunciations from the German version?

Not a bad idea, although some of the roles are still open on both plays... so I'd still need someone to tell me how to pronounce the names of other characters regardless.

(I do want to listen to PatrickLondon's performance as Alva, though, just to get an idea of how I should perform the character for the English language version.)

If Karlsson is busy, I'll be happy to help you out - but since he already offered I don't want to cut in :)

Hi,

here is my file with the german names:
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/xx/pronunciationhelp_lulu.mp3 (04:51).

I read each name three times, first normally, then very slowly and articulated, then normally again (except Bob and Jack  )

Bye,
Karlsson
