Help with French, please--The French pronunciation thread
Glad to know. With everybody volunteering, it's not like there's any way to put your name in for a bonus. Here's what I managed to choke out during the actual recording of the section: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/xx/ronsard_fin_cam.mp3LibbyG wrote:Sure thing!
Funny how "performance pressure" can reach a body even sitting alone in front of a computer. Imagine how much worse it would have been without your help (& without Audacity's ability to edit).
Thanks, again, for your time.

Hi, French-speaking LVers.
I need help with the following phrases and sentences:
Vies des dames galantes
Sur aulcunes dames vieilles, qui aiment autant à faire l'amour que les jeunes
Quelle horreur! Quelle langue exécrable! Mais c'est une brute que ce Gorka! Assez!

Sorry Piotrek I saw this and then forgot. I will record it for you tonight.
Hi Folks,
I have come across large piece of French text in the book I'm currently recording. I don't speak French. Normally, I go to the 'Net and use one of the audio translator pages for small pieces of a "foreign" language, type them out phonetically, and do the best I can . This is more than that. Anyone interested in recording this and sending it to me? I will, of course, give you credit in the summary for the assistance. Here's the text:
"Il est difficile de definer l'amour: ce qu'on en peut dire est que, dans l'ame, c'est un passion de regner; dans les esprits, c'est une sympathie; et dans le corps, ce n'est qu'une envie cachee et delicate de posseder ce que l'on aime, apres beaucoup de mysteres."
Thanks
Tom

Moved this where hopefully more people will see it
There's honestly no such thing as a stupid question -- but I'm afraid I can't rule out giving a stupid answer : : To Posterity and Beyond!
Thanks Cori. I wasn't sure where to put it.
