Hey there,

Dunno if this is old news, but I was adding and rearranging stuff on my 2Gig thumbdrive and ran across this:

http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/audacity_portable

Wow, didn't know there was a protable version. DL'ded it and stuck it on the thumb drive. Small footprint and now I got Audacity to go!

BTW, yes, you still have to add the LAME dll to export to MP3...

On windows, I've been using it on a thumbdrive for years. The portable apps version adds a nice thumb drive option, but you've always been able to download audacity as a plain zipped folder instead of an installer. Just unzip it wherever you want and away you go.

I'm glad you discovered it. Some of the other open source apps on portableapps are pretty sweet too.
