OMG Robert I think you have hit it on the head. I bet it was never not UNpaused!!

I think UNpausing was not possible. Not when I tried it anyway.

Phew. But it would be great to have a solution even after the fact in case it happens again to someone.

The first thing I did was hit the 'pause' button in order to 'unpause' the file and actually began to read again before I noticed that nothing was happening. That's when I realized that the pause and stop buttons were disabled. :(

I hope that this is a problem that will be corrected in 1.3. Right now I only use 1.3 for noise-cleaning.

I just tested it in 1.3 beta and it didn't lock up. It did however kick off the pause and stop the recording and I had to hit record again to start it up, which it did in a new track. I wouldn't bet that it will never lock up, though.

Hi Robert,

I have stayed with the older version of Audacity due to the feedback I've seen here about version 1.3 crashing, etc. I haven't had it crash on me but, as I said, I've only been using it for noise-cleaning. :D
