I am a newbie, and it occurs to me: what if I encounter an abbreviation
for a place name in a text I am reading (e.g. LI for Long Island.)
How is it to be read?
"Capital L, Capital I?" Just "LI?" "L period I period?" or "Long Island"?
Thanks for your input.

Good question. There is no hard and fast rule. If it is your own solo or short story submission read it as you like. If it is a chapter in a group project you can post in the thread asking the BC what they prefer.
