Christmas Carol CDs Donations

I know the Christmas season is a long ways off. But I'm starting to think about ways to distribute our Christmas Carol Collection as CDs during the Holiday Season -- it's a nice, "home-made" sort of gift.

I originally thought of sending them out to soldiers overseas. Check out this website for ideas:

From reading another post, I got the idea to send CDs to prisoners. I wasn't able to find much information on how to do that. Any help would be helpful ;-) !

Feel free to leave any ideas!

I bet the soldiers would appreciate the audio recordings in an iPod rather than a CD, but that could get pricey.

If you're looking for a resource to donate education material to prisoners:

CD make sense in this case, as I think Internet access is very restricted.

Linda--

It's been a while since your post. What did you end up doing?

I volunteer for a group that mails educational books to prisoners all across the US. It's unusual for them to have access to a CD player, but a few do. You might be able to get your CD into the prisons by mailing them to a prison librarian or chaplain. Our group sometimes do this with audiobooks or chess sets we want to send in with the book donations-- what I'm basically saying is that we can mail certain plastic items in to the staff and chaplains of the prisons which we are NOT able to mail directly to the prisoners.

Prison Fellowship has multiple programs for prisoners: http://www.pfm.org/
It is centered in the United States.

One of its programs is Angel Tree, which helps the children of prisoners,
including giving them gifts at Christmas time: http://www.angeltree.org/

There's music on here too? I'd love to do some singing if there are projects ongoing and my temperamental Audacity setup can handle it.
