Hello. If you have BitTorrent capabilities please seed these torrents with me.

Link to a list of torrents to be seeded

Background Info:
This is yet another BitTorrent test. But maybe too our humble start to serve the books for ourselfs. THIS IS COOL!
We are testing if we are able to provide the books by ourselfs with BitTorrent, without the backup of a very fast server. We wanna see if we can sustain torrents and how much interest is out there.

(Hugh, Chris, this list is not intended as Librivox process. I got carried away with it. its just for testing)

Okay, I've added them, although my client is scheduled to not connect during the day, so it'll be a while before I contribute any activity. They'll also get queued one at a time (I have other things going on already.)

Cheers,

I just tried it and it might be a screw up on my part but I got
"Audiobook - Helsinkiin - Juhani Aho [Librivox][Finnish]" : Aborting the torrent as it was rejected by the tracker while not connected to any peers. Message from the tracker: Torrent not in pool. Go to Demonoid.com and read the FAQ"

Demonoid FAQ says:
...

AH YES. Thank you vee. My error. Won?t be using the demonoid tracker again. They wanted me to include a certain info file, which is missing in the packages now. Good to know!

oK everybody. The first set was crap due to a bad tracker. I reseeded a new set of torrents.
See first post for a list of the new (working) torrents.

Seems to be working at the moment. I added all the torrents and I've got 2.9% done on Conn. Yankee. It says it'll take another 3 days to finish it, so it might be awhile before all the torrents are downloaded.

Thanks for the info.
The average speed in the yankee is 25 kb/sec at the moment. You?re probably unlucky atm.

Please provide as much information as you can when you have time, about speeds, hick-ups in connection, tracker-problems, download times etc.

I'm seeding 'Call of the Wild'; downloaded in about an hour, and then overnight uploaded four copies worth :).

Vee - have you got the upload ports open? You know that bittorrent tends to download faster if you also upload?

Apologies if you are experienced with torrents and this is old news...

I'm pretty sure I have them open, but I think Hopkins is throttling BitTorrent traffic :) I'm going to start one up at home and see how it comes out.

Okay, will kill my torrents and grab the new ones tonight, or do you not need further testing?

I?d say we are sailing....
Got 13/17 Books seeded already. All are running fine.
Librivox has Torrents. :D

Seed what you can, please, francis.

Wait a second...
DOH! Do you still have the old torrents running from the bad tracker? They should be dead already. Aren?t they without leechers and seeders?
Tell me about those old torrents. Did they run fine? How many downloader do you think they got?

TO find out if you have the old or the right ones:
We gotta find out your torrents tracker. Double click on a torrent or something? You can also open the torrent-file with the notepad and tell me the first tracker-url.

They should be "http://tracker.prq.to/announce"
NOT http://inferno.demonoid.com:3389/announce

Any torrents on "http://tracker.prq.to/announce" you can keep seeding.
Throw away the demonoids.
