We have a project cataloged a few years ago that has voice-on-voice, a few missed repeats, and some blank spots: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=76417

Looking for a reader (experienced) who can go in clean up the repeats, and re-record the parts that are missing. It would be nice to have at least a female voice on this.

Audio file is here: http://www.archive.org/download/stories_worth_rereading_1702_librivox/storiesworthrereading_31_various_128kb.mp3
Text is here: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/9508

Please post in this thread if you will do this.

* I suppose we could have someone just re-record the entire section, but I'd like to try to salvage this one as much as we can. *

This sounds like an intriguing challenge. I've had a brief listen to the recording, and I think my voice would match the original reader's reasonably well. My regional accent is a bit different, but my general voice, its pitch and weight, would be similar, so my little occasional inserts shouldn't make too jarring a transition.

So I guess I'm volunteering to take a whack at it. Give me a few days to play with it, and if I find it's not working out, I'll let you know, so you can look for someone else.

What should I call the file, and whose folder should I upload it to, when I get it done?

Thank you! Someone taking a crack at it is wonderful, even if it doesn't turn out.

Keep the same file name as the original, please, and upload to my folder. :)

Okay, here's what I've ended up with -- (length 20:03)
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/storiesworthrereading_31_various_128kb.mp3

You'll probably have to PL the whole section, just to be sure I didn't accidentally cut out any large chunks, or introduce any new errors.
But if you want to listen more particularly just to the places where my voice is "patched in", to see how badly the patches show, here are those sections --

0:52 to 1:14
2:09 to 2:23
2:54 to 3:15
5:57 to 6:17
6:20 to 6:39
7:52 to 8:09
9:23 to 9:46
12:32 to 12:48
15:56 to 16:18

Thank you! I don't know what the day holds (we might to for a bike ride after lunch), so I don't know when I'll get to this.
