Hi Grace,

I'm not much further along than you, but here's what I found. This seems to be the cleanest most direct help page to understand categories: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Categories

After reading that help page, I suggest finding several accepted articles that are similar to yours. Then go to the bottom of those accepted pages and copy to your article the exact format that they have used for their categories.

That's all I can suggest, but I'm happy to look and learn with you if needed.

Good luck,
Lori

That's GREAT Lorry! Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that page. It makes a lot more sense, plus your suggestion, than what I had found.

Let me know if I might be able to share anything that I know about anything. No promises... :lol:

We did it!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Albert_St._Mouritz The article is now an article instead of just a draft! :D Thanks again for your help when I only saw a towering brick wall. You did great punching a door into it.

David,

After several discussions with the wikipedia team, the French policy of external links does not allow repeated referrals to an unofficial site.

I can't help as I wanted :hmm:

Sunday I did an LV Zoom tutorial on how to create Wikipedia Links, and created a wiki page linking to that tutorial and worksheet.

Check it out. Then, if you want to volunteer to help link up our projects to Wikipedia, please let me know.

I noticed on this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mildred_Keith which is a page about the series there is a link to just the married life one - wouldn't it be better to use a LV catalogue link that would give the series ?

Thanks Availle. Shorter book links are much easier on the eyes. If you have a similar shortcut for the book links, let me know.
I'm not Availle, but... ;)

It looks like you're linking to search results. That's the best policy for books, because it'll return any multiple versions. I don't think there's a shorter URL for search results.

It would really help if you'd post this in the working thread under the post in question. However, I used the link provided by the MC which said it was directly to the book, and created that link back to the book. If there is a series, I would need that link to be provided.

Book name: Mildred's Married Life :thumbs:
Author name: Martha Finley
Wikipedia page linked from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mildred_Keith
Librivox page linked to: https://librivox.org/search?title=Mildred%27s+Married+Life&author=Finley&reader=&keywords=&genre_id=0&status=all&project_type=either&recorded_language=&sort_order=catalog_date&search_page=1&search_form=advanced
Linked on: 2/23/21
Note: Someone added code that linked directly to the book, not to all iterations of the book. I replaced it with the correct template.
If I knew who posted the original link I could provide them with the correct template, but I don't. So let me direct them to the Wikipedia Links wiki for further instructions on the templates now being used, and post these for comparison.
INCORRECT: * {{librivox book | title=Mildred Keith | author=Martha FINLEY}}
CORRECT: * {{librivox book | title= Mildred's Married Life | author=Martha Finley }}
When I looked at the Wikipedia author page in question, I clicked on View History at the top of the page beside Edit Source. I found the following entry:
" 17:58, 15 January 2020‎ Fadesga ‎ →‎External links "
You can click on the name Fadesga and see if anything rings a bell regarding his identity. He might be a fan! Or ancestor. He also provided a reference for the author in 2014.

OK - I didn't realise you were just using the BC's link - I'll do some thinking. (The references on that page need a tidy up I noticed but that isn't us :D )
We will have 6 books in the Mildred series soon - I was a bit worried that if we added 6 links Wikipedia would object, There must be a way.
