Hi
Can anyone help me with a phonetical translation for this Latin phrase?
Cælum non animum mutant qui trans mare currunt.
Thanks!
help with Latin translation
My relatively poor knowledge of Latin suggests the pronunciation to be (emphasized syllables are in CAPS)
KAY-loom non AH-knee-moom MOO-tahnt kwee trahns MAH-reh KOO-roont
As far as translation goes, I am not certain. Try Google translate.
Good luck!

to PLers: do correct my pronunciation please
You probably got a translation for this... but in case you haven't
Cælum non animum mutant qui trans mare currunt
Weather not disposition (is what) they change (those) who run across the sea
"Those who run across the sea change the weather, not their mind/disposition."
The sense, by my reading, being: "You can't run away from your problems."
Being from Seattle, I'm not sure I agree: tons of locals head to Hawaii for a break once winter's set in
