The b number is the book number with a b in front so Masa knows whether it is a book , a reader or an author as all have numbers in our system

Hello Peter san,
unreadpages wrote:I couldn't work out where the "b" numbers came from.
You can see the "b" numbers at
http://ekzemplaro.org/librivox/catalog/

You can use title search.

b9382 The Story of Rimini Hunt , Leigh English Poetry 2015-01-28 02:42 01:25:44 Peter Tucker

As Anne san explains,
This is 'b' + LibriVox book number.

Cheers,
Masa

Hi Peter,

the author's page is the wrong place to link to a single work, your edit there is already reverted.
Since there is a page for the story itself, but it's not linked from LV, the status should be 2,
a link from
https://librivox.org/the-story-of-rimini-by-leigh-hunt/
to
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_Rimini
should be added

Cheers

It appears you are adding external links to many different Wikipedia pages in rapid succession. This is often a sign of people spamming Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites. Before you continue you may wish to review Wikipedia's policies of external links and spam as these may help you decide whether these links are appropriate for Wikipedia. Please feel free to ask at the Help Desk if you have any questions.
Anyone ever come up with this? Do you know what to do about it?

I checked 150 books. The results are here. Please note on the spreadsheet when changes etc have been done to keep it current.

Y - Librivox link is on Wikipedia page
N - that the Librivox link isn't on the Wikipedia page (not updated to keep me out of jail)
N/a - no or empty Wikipedia page
If the Wikipedia page reference is given it means that this reference is not on the LV catalog page

For the Bronte sister's poems I suggest that we collate them into a "series" as they all come from the same book "Poems by Currer,Ellis, and Acton Bell" as well as 2 copies of this book. Then when the link on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poems_by_Currer,_Ellis,_and_Acton_Bell it'll go to the books as well as the individual poems. The individual poem pages are empty, so I can't put a link in.

I added those missing links to wikipedia, all but 2, "Twenty Years at Hull-House" and "Good Wives" do not have a wiki page on their own, so I was hesitant to set links for them.

P.S.:
I never got such a spam notice, and the only thing I'm doing on wiki is adding these links, sometimes 20-30 a day, was this a notice from a bot? Maybe you did change some highly sensitive and well observed page? What is your wiki account? I didn't see any book links recently added to wiki, at least not by using the template.

Hi Kim,

now I found you as I was going through the "y" part of your list. I think you got that spam message, because you were adding the exact same link to several pages (An Outpost of Progress, Tales of Unrest, The Idiots), and maybe also because your account was fresh at that point.
Don't get me wrong: I think setting these links was perfectly fine and adds value to these wiki pages, but these kinds of changes can be detected automatically by bots and they can't decide wether your change is a good one or not and will fire this warning in any such case.

So, in the end: be brave and maybe avoid adding the exact same link to several pages at the same day.

Cheers

These are the links that the Author's page goes to when referring to the books. I did consider and have not included others where I didn't think it was appropriate.
@Masa-san: these can go to 3 once David finishes the list off:
The current designation of "3" is a bit misleading. It may be that the page is created in future years, but with the "3" designation they'll not be checked. Hence the way I've done it with "Y/N" or "n/a".
