Hello Tim san,
TimoleonWash wrote:Now that the project has been running a while I believe there is a clear need for an additional status, that is, a status that indicates there IS a link from wikipedia to LibriVox, but there ISN'T a link from LibriVox to wikipedia.
I agree. As we are still on an early stage, I change the meaning of the status as follows.
-1 ---> Not checked yet
0 ---> Checked. No link to & from Wikipedia
1 --> Checked. Exists link to Wikipedia
2 --> Checked. Exists link from Wikipedia
3 --> Checked. Exist links to & from Wikipedia
I already applied this change to http://ekzemplaro.org/librivox/catalog

The following are all verified as status #3, links both ways:

b2464 The People That Time Forgot by Edgar Rice Burroughs
b382, b7387, b7872, The Gods of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs

There is a problem with all of these Tarzan books. None of the wikipedia links go to the book, they all go the a "Series" page. In this series page the books can be found, but so far I don't know why the links don't go to the books. It looks like the search is being automatically replaced by LibriVox...?

b2806 Jungle Tales of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs
b1849 The Beasts of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs
b1199 The Return of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs
b1303 Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs
b2703 Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar by Edgar Rice Burroughs
b2610 Son of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs

Does anyone know why searches on these books don't result in the books, but in a series instead?

Thanks TriciaG, I see that this is LibriVox policy. Do you know why this happens? I'm guessing a decision was made to do this and was wondering about the reasoning. Just curious.

Why not ? If you click on the group you get all the books. That is the way the search is set up.

And if a listener doesn't want all the books, just the one, then they need to search the list to find it?

In this particular case - it is all the one book. https://archive.org/download/thumbs_03/Isha_upanishad_thumb_1504.jpg
So there will be only 1 book in Wiki which will link to the group

Hello Tim san,

Thank you for the report. I updated the database.

Why don't you make a direct link to the book page?
I don't think plural recordings appear before the Search problem is fixed.

If he does that, then a Version 2, 3 etc. of any of those books won't appear.

I don't think this is a big problem myself ... it's just to do with the way the groups work. It's not hard for people to click through to browse what's available.
There's honestly no such thing as a stupid question -- but I'm afraid I can't rule out giving a stupid answer : : To Posterity and Beyond!

For the author Ralph Waldo Emerson:

b6674 Conduct of Life, This title does not match. The title of the text begins with the word "The". I didn't feel comfortable doing the link with a different title.

b3390 Nature, links both ways, status 3.
b6658 Essays First Series (v2), links both ways, status 3.

The following all have links from wikipedia to LibriVox and from LibriVox to the wikipedia Author page. NONE OF THESE have links from LibriVox to the wikipedia Book page.

b399 Thodora
b573 Essays First Series
b3189 Essays Second Series
b4411 Representative Man

For the LibriVox offerings that don't have a link to the wikipedia Book page but could, do we need a new thread to report these to ADMIN so that they can be added?

It isn't even complete - we certainly do not want it linked at Wikipedia - please make sure this doesn't happen , only link completed works
