Rather than construct a disagreeable poll
to vote on an arbitrary selection of potential
titles for our work-in-progress "The Mystery"
(The Mystery), I'd might be fun to hash it
out in real words.

You're now the family's manservant.
EDIT{/b]: Sorry, that's been changed! You doing that has been deemed impossible.

Personally, I like it as just The Mystery.
or, how about something Proustian . . . wait for it,
"Rememberance of Times Passed Out".

Although I have thought we could improve on 'The Mystery', I've failed to come with anything other than stupid ideas, like 'T is for Danger' or 'What Trevor and Tracey Did'.
So my vote is still with The Mystery.

Why don't you wait until you complete your chapter. Maybe you'll come up with something like:earthcalling wrote:Although I have thought we could improve on 'The Mystery', I've failed to come with anything other than stupid ideas, like 'T is for Danger' or 'What Trevor and Tracey Did'.

,
Please keep in mind the purpose of a title. Remember also that no one will know anything about this story before they listen to it. (These might also help us to uncover how this will end...)
A few suggestions:
The Two-Sided Mystery
Two Sides of a Mystery
The Chinchilla Mystery
The Mystery of the Non-Existent Chinchilla
The Mystery of the Thousand Year Old Chinchilla
The Mystery of the Chinchilla and the Two Falcons
The Chinchilla and the Five Blind Yogis
The Mystery of How Five Blind Yogis found the Chinchilla
The Mystery of Rebbecca's Lost Shoe
The Mystery of the Last Elder's Chinchilla
The Mystery of the Chinchilla's Lost Investment
and so on...
Want more?

Rebecca lost a shoe? Hm. Here are some things that just popped into my head (like daisies!):Cloud Mountain wrote: The Mystery of Rebbecca's Lost Shoe
Hidden Truths
Martians and Manuscripts
A Tale of Two Siblings (and many cities)
Between the Lines
...
Though I do like "Remembrance of Times Passed Out."

Personally, I like it as 'The Mystery.' It has a somber finality to it and seems appropriate to a group project.
The title reminds me of those photo projects where thousands of faces are layered to create 'The Face.'
Think the The Beatles, 'White Album,' not Spinal Tap's 'Black Album.'
Or we could have one of those really insufferable asterisk titles that are all the rage:
THE MYSTERY
*Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Trust My Inner Chinchilla
