Here we have the dilemma of old, of whether a BC/Soloist can appoint a covermaker other than themselves. I look forward to hearing how this goes.

Not your fault in any way. It is a long-standing policy that should be explained right up front in the first post. As I understand the reasoning, it is so that BC's and Soloists don't show favoritism such that other volunteers might feel slighted. Also part of the plan to encourage creativity, you have to accept what you get. Both reasonable plans which have been disputed over time. But, there's nothing wrong with alerting your preferred designer that your project has just been catalogued, so they can start checking the Cover Claims Board and try to claim it. It doesn't always succeed, but the suspense keeps things interesting!!!! And, you can always make suggestions for your cover, or learn how to design your own covers, as some soloists and BC's do, which improves your chances of satisfaction.

Every project deserves a happy cover.

to quote the first post
If you are a BC of a group project or a soloist who wish to create your own cover for your project, then you can pre-claim the cover before cataloguing is complete.
It seems quite clear to me

cover caught ... and linked. Nice cover

I don't see Love Stories cover up. Is that the cover you are referring to?
