It is nice, but we really can only use cc0 ones, we can't adhere to any images with strings attached So you'll need to find something else

With wikimedia you need to go by the date of the painting, not all the stuff they write afterwards. Just stick to 1923 or earlier and you will be OK.
It's just not worth continually pushing the boundaries - There must be other clown PD images around, there may even be one of a clown doll - which is what the book is about.

Here is my preclaim for A Golden Day, on March 31st. I was about to upload my cover this morning when I noticed a different cover already there. With apologies to the other designer, I would like my claim to be honored.
