According to Pixabay all their images are in the public domain, and the admin team says they check each photo thoroughly. Should I find a new photo anyway?

EDIT: went on Wikimedia Commons and will experiment with creating a new cover with one of these two images:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:A_family_playing_cards;_the_husband_is_looking_over_his_wife_Wellcome_V0040214.jpg
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:A_bourgeois_wife_shows_her_husband_the_preserved_foetus_of_h_Wellcome_V0011804.jpg
Will be back with the new cover soon!

please read the first post. In particular, this bit
Make extra sure the picture you use is in the public domain!
See also the post here about modern images and photographs.

Modern means post 1923 .
There are thousands of genuinely PD images around.

The cover for "Dutch and English on the Hudson" by Maud Wilder Goodwin can be found here: https://librivox.org/uploads/covers/Salvationist.zip

This volume has not yet been added to the "Chronicles of America" series. If someone who is able to do so would be willing, that would be greatly appreciated.
